Team Profile
For 2014 UGRacing are aiming for a simple, cheap and reliable car. The team is making the most of its legacy components and concentrating on the areas of the car where the greatest improvements could be made.
UGRacing had a difficult season last year with an engine failure only days before the competition. In an effort to improve reliability the team have switched back to the previous Honda 600 CBR and plan to make the most of the increased power and driveability afforded by the greater torque.
The University of Glasgow offers several courses in engineering which has given rise to a good mix of mechanical, electrical and aeronautical students in the team. UGRacing have also recruited from the business school and have been spending the majority of the year trying to build a stronger team by putting in place new resources and processes for design and manufacturing which we felt were lacking in previous years.
UGRacing would very much like to thank the University of Glasgow and SRC as well as our sponsors, Arnold Clark, The Hammermen of Glasgow, The Scottish Association of Metals, Doosan, Subsea7, Coolex, Duright, Jectcut, NKG, Zircotec,Gurit and Solidworks for helping us make this possible.
